Nervous about appt with surgeon..

I haven't spoken to my surgeon's office since I found out I was pg.  The nurse was completely rude to me for getting pg 5.5 mos out and basically said.  "There is nothing we can do for you here, call your pcp."  No support no anything

I have an appt on the 22nd and I am competely nervous.  Of course this was not expected but it did happen and I didn't lose all my excess weight, I've actually gained 20lbs since becoming pg.

I'm about ready to cancel the appt and forget it.

I would still go - hopefully your surgeon is more receptive - NOTHING they can do about the situation except help you out! *hugs*

Hang in there sweetie!

I would also let the surgeon know that the nurse was RUDE and that you did not appreciate it.  I am sure that no doctor wants to hear that they have staff that are rude to patients regardless of the cir****tances.  Good luck.

Do not cancel your appointment.  It might be uncomfortable and/or awkward, but the bottom line is that they are a major resource for you and you do not need to burn that bridge.  If you cancel, it will just be harder to go back when you need to.

I completely understand your anxiety.  I hate conflict, and I hate to be judged.  But I can also handle anything for an hour.  So go to your appointment, suck it up and take whatever they dish out, and go forward from there.  Keep in mind that their main concern is your health and success as a patient.  It's not personal.  Good luck and let us know how it goes!...Natalie

You broke their rules (they usually suggest at least a year)!  I would imagine as a clinic it could be hard for some staff to understand their lives are their own...and to let go of their patients.  I am sure they want success stories for all patients-we've all been through so much with fighting obesity.  The truth to the situation is that you may have limited your WLS ability...BUT that really isn't an excuse to treat you bad.  Things happen.  Just let them know it wasn't your plan but you intend on being happy with your gift, and you just want their support / knowledge.  Good luck- and I say face the situation- act like a responsible adult (i.e. go), just let them know your not going to be bullied by them.  Good luck- and the stress about something that is almost 2 weeks away isnt healthy for you and baby.

This is about you and not that nurse.  Forget about her and take care of you - don't cancel!!!
